I made this houswif to hold my sewing gear for who wants to storm a cowering ship in a torn pants? Thread, needles, leather thimble, scissors (bought), buttons and the like, all to keep my clothes presentable for a Madascar lass. A friend from Siberia was in the business of importing mammoth ivory and gave me some scraps. I made this bone needle case and filled it with ivory needles I carved from the scraps I was given. I also made other needles from bone, brass, steel and even thorns. These are lucets I made. A Lucet turns string into cordage and you can then wind the cordage into rope. But it all starts with turning proper flax or wool into thread and I use a drop-spindle (not shown) for that. And yes, I have had a number of ladies ask me to make them lucets and drop spindles.

I also made other needles from bone, brass, steel and even thorns. Have you ever tried solid surface counter top materials (Corian/Staron)? Probably too brittle for small thin stuff but seems like a viable substitute for bigger scrimshaw type pieces. Have some off white scrap if you want to experiment.

I never tried anything like that, bone, ivory and brass being my main bits of materials.
I am looking for some display cases to show them off at the next public event.
Also making a ground bed frame for campouts. Got to keep the ladies happy.

And, of course, something to warm the belly. I cannot brew Rum but I do have a good talent for making Mead. That is honey wine for the rest of you.

Every pirate is required to own a firearm and to keep it clean. Here is a flintlock I purchased and a cleaning kit including: Cloth for holding the pall in the barrel extra flints and leather to keep the flint secure in the hammer a ring of tools I made to repair the weapon Lead balls for people and wooden balls for Vampirates. Plus a case to hold it all.

AND, of course, my Navigator's chest. The chest contains: horn to call for duty wax tablet to record the readings (paper is expensive) compass in a brass case Quadrant I made. Accurate to within a degree. Hourglass to time the log line Log Line to measure the ships speed Lead Line to measure the water depth telescope various navigation gear from the arabs and polynesians. And my Rutter in which I record all that I need to get from here to there. I may not know where I am, but I never get lost! NOT SHOWN are; my Sextant because it hasn't been invented yet. A mariner's Astrolabe because I forgot to put it in the picture.

Paper is expensive and blows away easily so to record immediate soundings, I use a wax tablet. This is the tablet in it's case with the writing stick on the cover. This is the open tablet. You use the stylus to scratch your readings into the wax, then use the flat end to erase those readings so the tablet can be reused.
